It’s a thousand little things. It’s hundreds of volunteers. It’s the children and their
families from the past 20 years.
The journey began with a simple gesture…a concert to benefit one of our own, Dakota
Gay. Dakota bravely battled his illness and the Lake Wylie community made sure he
didn’t fight alone. Dakota’s story became our story and the community made it a
mission to continue to fight for other children like Dakota.
Six years ago, we evolved into a year-round charity supporting families with children
suffering from cancer or some other life-threatening illness. We hope even more people
will join us in the mission of Lake Wylie Children’s Charity (LWCC)…a dedicated and
loving group of volunteers and scores of sponsors who donate every year. 20 years is a
time to pause and celebrate that we are helping more families who are fighting the fight. We thank those who graciously support these families through their time, sponsorship and in-kind donations.
Help us launch our $20 for 20th!
In honor of our 20th, we’ve launched the $20 for 20th Campaign. What can $20 dollars
do? Every $20 tells these families, “You are not alone!” It all adds up, dollar by dollar, to
help us replenish the financial resources of families whose finances are being depleted
by overwhelming costs and expenses of their child fighting cancer or some other life-
threatening illness.
Please be a part of a community who wants to help ease those burdens. Simply click on
Donate Now at the top of this page. If you can’t donate $20, whatever you can helps.
For a child and the family, it shows you care. And if you can give more, then we’d be
blessed by that too.
Thank you for being a part of our amazing journey.
