Every opportunity to help begins with a referral.

LWCC relies on referrals from caring individuals to help us connect with children in the Lake Wylie area who are experiencing life-threatening medical conditions. The eligibility consideration referral process begins with you. This process is initiated when you fill out our nomination form below and submit it to our Board of Directors. Our organization partners with local medical centers, area social service departments, area community churches, and other sources as deemed appropriate by the Board. All nominated children are screened to determine their eligibility.

Who is Eligible?

A child with a life-threatening medical condition who is younger than 18 at the time of the referral is potentially eligible for sponsorship. Children from any community that touches Lake Wylie in Gaston, Mecklenburg, and York counties will be considered.

Who Can Refer a Child?

Community members, medical professionals, clergy, business leaders, parents, legal guardians, family members, and friends with detailed knowledge of the child’s current medical condition and/or financial needs can initiate the nomination process.

What Expenses Can LWCC Help With?

We primarily cover the necessities of life to help the child and its family continue operating as a family, including, but not limited to:

Food
Clothing
Transportation
Hospital, Doctor, or Medical Bills
General or Special Household Expenses
